About Lisa Michele
Lisa Michele has a wealth of experience in Nutrition, Health and Fitness. She grew up in Canberra competing in tennis tournaments all around Australia and, whilst obtaining her Bachelors of Science, she competed in first division tennis across the United States. She is a registered Master Trainer with Fitness Australia and holds a Masters degree in Human Nutrition.
Lisa’s personal journey with health and nutrition has given her first-hand appreciation of the very real challenges people face as they work towards their health goals. She has experienced how easily lifestyle can influence our wellbeing and seemingly dictate our eating habits. She has felt the confusion and frustration that can come from fads and conflicting dietary advice. She has been through the struggle of trying to find health professionals she felt comfortable with and who offered genuine, personal support.
I believe in being flexible, keeping it simple, balanced and in moderation. There is no scientific evidence to substantiate extreme diets that emphasise restriction.
Eating wholefoods from the different food groups rather than highly processed foods is the important foundation of everyday nutrition.
Balance! Balance! Balance! Eating can be about more than just nutrition. It’s often part of our relationships with other people and our social calendar. Finding a healthy way forward needs to accommodate this.
Nutrition is holistic. In order to reach optimal health it is necessary to consider other lifestyle factors such as sleep, stress, exercise and relationships.
Lifestyle habits are hard to change. To make important lifestyle changes health professionals need to equip clients with practical tools and a solid understanding of what to change, why to change, and how to change. The client needs to feel confident in the change and receive support every step of the way.
Health/nutrition changes need to be sustainable. What suits one person will not necessarily suit another — no two people are the same. To maintain the change the journey needs to be customised to the individual. Individual likes and dislikes, daily schedules, relationships, past history with food and much more need to be considered.

Our bodies require an important balance to function most optimally. As an elite athlete, Lisa Michele learnt this the hard way, struggling through her early 20s with the increasingly common female athlete triad. Over exercise and an unnecessarily restrictive diet caused problems of undernourishment, poor bone density and, ultimately, infertility.
The road to recovery wasn’t easy, she had to change many aspects of her lifestyle, develop a new relationship with food and work through a sense of grief and loss. But she set goals, gathered support around her and worked! And worked! And worked!
Fast forward a few years and Lisa Michele’s commitment to her wellbeing paid off. Today she enjoys a wonderful sense of happiness and balance in her life, and a love for helping others find the same. She and her husband were also blessed with their courageous, beautiful daughter. Now a highly educated health and fitness professional, Lisa’s journey has equipped her with the skills and empathy to provide a supportive, holistic nutrition and health practice.
Like her journey into health and nutrition, the story of Lisa Michele’s first client is also a personal one — her dad. A lifetime of a busy lifestyle had left Lisa’s father with weight, cholesterol and blood pressure issues that were becoming increasingly concerning with age. He had tried on numerous occasions to lose weight, but had been unsuccessful. Lisa’s program of education and support, her way of making things simple, fun and practical changed all that. She supported her dad to not only lose weight but maintain the change, reduce his cholesterol, lower his blood pressure and improve his energy levels, making his doctor (and daughter) very happy!
As a natural perfectionist Lisa Michele is determined to be as educated as possible in order to help others achieve a healthy lifestyle. She combines a wealth of knowledge and experience in the areas of personal training, nutrition, and education. She is a hard worker, one of the most organised people you will ever meet, and genuinely cares about her clients in supporting them every step of the way to reach their goals. As a trained teacher, she understands that people learn differently. She also knows that it can be frightening and intimidating to reach out for help.
With Lisa you will experience sessions that are friendly, relaxed, straight forward, relevant and easy to follow. We aim to help you walk away from each session feeling confident and knowing exactly what to do to achieve and sustain your own healthy balance.
